The Golden Gate Bridge is one of the most famous bridges in the world. It is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate strait, the one-mile-wide (1.6 km), three-mile-long (4.8 km) channel between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

San Francisco (i.e "Saint Francis" in Spanish) was founded in 1776 by Spanish colonists. This city is really famous for its cable cars and its steep streets. Lombard Street is so steep that the a portion or the street is crooked so that it is less dangerous for cars!
